Victorian Bronze miniature sculpture cold-painted Pig with Clover

Description : Cold painting is a process that was used in Austria in the early part of the 20th century. It was a dry mix of polychrome enamels in dust form. They were applied to the cast bronze figures. The mixture was unheated and hence called 'cold-painted'. It is now considered that this technique is a 'lost art'. A lucky clover leaf accompanies this little pig. He is so animated and alive. What a beautiful piece of history. This bronze miniature sculpture measure approximately 25mm wide and 10mm high.
