The Story Behind our Window...
Debuting August 19... The Countess Travels
This window is a peek into the life and world travels of a Victorian Countess from Norway. Harriet was born in the US, raised in privilege and traveled in splendor. Her passing in 1975, aged 103 years, left behind a legacy of her love for dogs (she founded a home for elderly, homeless pooches) and a treasure trove of artifacts from her travel adventures. This window features a collection of her personal items including several of her antique silk parasols with carved wood animated dog handles, antique fans in Mother of Pearl and french lace, Spanish fan with hand painted bull fight scene, a spectacular collection of feathered hats from Europe and the Eastern seaboard, several silver framed tapestry hand bags and many beautiful bound photo albums, framed photos and ephemera from her travels. These items are on display and offered for purchase exclusively at Classic Facets. We invite you to come experience the Grand Tour in the silver thread embroidered shoes of a Victorian Countess.
