Description : The name on the box is from a Danish jeweler’s house. The words jewellers and goldsmiths are at the top, and the address is indeed Denmark. A thimble was a symbol of domesticity, and is worn on the index or middle finger to push a needle through fabric or leather. This sewing tool was first found to be used in the 10th century in England. In the tale of Peter Pan, Wendy gives Peter a thimble as a token of a kiss, which he believes is an actual kiss, so often a thimble is symbol for lovers. This beautifully crafted piece, in its original box is in perfect condition and remains a mystery as to who was the original maker.
