Modern 14K rose gold smoky quartz ring

Description : The tradition of a signet ring is to create a signature for the wearer. The carving is usually on the top, and is called an intaglio. In this ring, the carving is on the back of the ring, and mysteriously shows the carving through the top of the smoky quartz. This process is called a reverse intaglio. The smooth smoky quartz is a window to the intricate carving of a pagoda. A pagoda is a tiered struction found in many countries in Asia. Often built in wood, and always with an odd number of tiers, they are usually hollow, with a small temple room inside. The word pagoda means temple worship. The detail in this reverse intaglio appears to be a very particular structure, and the smoky quartz is eye clean and allows you to see the carving clearly. Approximately 18mm tall and 15mm wide this rose gold ring is a size 6. The open back allows you to see the pagoda from both sides of the ring.
