Description : An Old Mine Cut Diamond has an appeal that has lasted over 100 years. The qualities of an old mine cut are, more 'squarish' in shape, the table is much smaller across but much deeper in height, and the culet on the bottom is flat and shows an opening often seen by the naked eye. These diamonds were hand cut so each one is unique, and was specifically fashioned to glow in candlelight. This ring has a one carat, VS clarity, H color old mine cut center diamond bezel set with the signature milgrain perimeter made popular in the Art Deco period, which began in the early 1920's and continued on into the late 1930's. Architectural design was the inspiration for daily life, and its influence could be seen in everything from fashion accessories to cars. There are four, 4mm round white natural diamonds surrounding the center, and two, 3mm round natural white diamonds on either side of the shank with a few smaller diamonds added as accents. Greenish blue sapphires create a dramatic graphic design, tucked in their invisible settings. A masterpiece of beauty and history, this ring is a generous size 8.
