Modern 18KY gold, diamond pave and opal custom ring

Description : Opal is a soft gemstone that has what is called pinpoint or flashes of fire. This phenomenon is the result of the structure of the way opal is formed as a silicate. Imagine a sink full of soap bubbles and how the light might highlight each bubble, and the iridescent fire you see. That is an analogy to how opal shows its fire. This oval cabochon is approximately 10mm x 12mm and bezel set in 18KY gold. On either side are pave natural white diamond accents. This was a custom designed ring, and the top is beautifully crafted with elaborate open work to allow the light to highlight the gemstones their absolute best. The shank is tapered down to 2 mm wide so the impressive top sits on the hand, and the ring is a comfortable fit. Opal is the birthstone for October, and diamond is for April. Size 6
