Description : The Italians are masters at the craft of making jewelry. Enamel has been a process that has been used in jewelry to create color, form and images for over 2,000 years. An oval centerpiece of cobalt blue enamel holds in its prongs two, tiny pink roses, and then is surrounded by 2 rows of brilliantly matched, prong set natural creamy white seed pearls. Seed pearls are formed in mollusks that live in salt water, and are less than 2mm each in size. They are exceedingly rare and especially in a piece of jewelry more than 100 years old. Enameling is the process of fusing brightly colored ground glass to the surface of your gold and in this case, a very dear hand painting of two pink roses. The setting is in 18KY gold weighs 9.73 grams and is called a ballerina style. If you can imagine the back of this ring as a tutu you can actually see the pleats from the set. This is a very romantic piece of jewelry, and made of the finest materials. Size 5.25
