Victorian 14KY gold and tourmaline diamond hand carved ring

Description : This tourmaline is an unusual 'buff' cut, as this style of fashioning a gemstone doesn't have facets on the edge or on the bottom. An oval yellowish green tourmaline is set in 14KY gold in an East West orientation. This ring is completely handmade c. 1900-1915, and hand engraved. It is solid in construction and the tourmaline is brilliant in color. Two, round, natural white diamonds are flush set to either side, making this ring a very low setting, secure and easy to wear. The name tourmaline comes from the Sinhalese word, 'tumali' which means mixed gemstones. Tourmaline often is bi-color and ranges from reds to greens. The spiritual properties of tourmaline include serenity and healing. Size 5.25
