Modern 14K rose gold and carved turquoise scarab ring

Description : The scarab motif found in Egyptian symbolism, referred to a dung beetle that is considered sacred througout history. It was thought that this beetle brought the sun every day. Precious gemstones were carved into the shape of the beetle, and oftentimes used as intaglio seals or signature stamps. Turquoise means 'Turkish stone' and has been used as personal adornment for thousands of years. The Egyptians were noted for the use of turquoise in their jewelry and funerary objects.
