Victorian 14KY gold, amethyst and seed pearl ring

Description : A cabochon cut is a flat backed gemstone with a rounded top. This gemmy eye clean, 20mm long x 10mm wide amethyst cabochon is nestled within a halo of prong set, natural 2mm round seed pearls. The pearls are beautifully matched and in excellent condition for being over 125 years old. Often they were a symbol of tears in mourning jewelry. Set in a tapered 14KY gold band this is a very small size 3.5 ring. Amethyst is the birthstone for February and pearl is for June.
