Native American Sterling Silver and Turquoise pin

Description : A humble vintage sterling silver handmade pin is set with 6 beautiful rough, various shaped cabochon turquouse gemstones. The turquoise has two different shades of blue, indicating two different mine sources. Measuring 65mm across and 33mm wide, it is the hand made signature of a tradtional Native American craftsman. The backplate shape is a sawn shape, and the decorative curls are each made individually and soldered to the back plate. Each piece of turquoise is cut by hand, and bezel set in a pattern on the top. Turquouise is a gem that has been used for thousands of years in the fine art of making jewelry, and one story is that it was a piece of the sky that fell to earth. The color of the sea and sky, turquoise is the birthstone for December.
