Description : Theodore Farner was a steel engraver and was born in Pforzheim, Germany. It is there he also received his artistic education. He became the sole proprietor of his late father's ring factory in 1895 and eventually awarded a silver medal at the Paris Exhibition held in 1900. His firm specialized in affordable Art Deco jewelry. The Arts and Crafts movement was coincident with the Art Deco period, focused on fine design and manufacturing and was influenced by the style of architecture of the Bauhaus movement. This is apparent in the design of this pin. Two half -round pieces of coral and onyx are inlaid on either end, and blue-gray enamel with a fire engine red strike an unlikely, but typical for the time, color balance on the silver.
