Victorian 14KY gold Persian turquoise, cultured pearl convertible pin/pendant

Description : There is a full 20 grams of 14KY gold in this handmade convertible pendant to brooch. Possibly crafted in 1860 in what is called the Grand Victorian era, Persian turquoise is square cut and channel set at an angle across a U shaped filigree design. From the center are creamy white cultured pearl drops as well as graduated pearls on the gold bail. What is most interesting is the construction of the convertible assembly that swivels off and removes the pin from the piece and turns it into a brooch. A unique, complex design is what makes this treasure so interesting as an iconic representation of its time. Turquoise strands not included.
