Description : When a piece of jewelry is hand fabricated it is a noteworthy detail. This means that each piece is hand cut, the shapes are fit together and the stones are bezel set by hand. Today this would nearly be impossible to re-create. An 18KY gold construction of sheet metal is cut out by hand, and assembled into a lively high stepping horse, carriage and riders within. There are a lot of playful details. Note the curl of the horse's mane and tail, and the heart shaped sides of the carriage. The wheels actually turn, and two lovers sit inside enjoying their very special ride. Their heads are ruby beads, and the crescent moon shape of the carriage's top is highlighted and defined with graduated cabochon, bezel set moonstones. There is plenty within this piece to bring a smile to your face, as the joy in the intention is palpable in this brooch.
