Description : Dress clips became popular in the 1920's when the style of clothing changed from the tight Victorian restrictive era to a looser fabric trend that was much more generous and flowing. They were also very versatile as dress clips, not only for clothing, but used to secure furs, accessories and for handbags. Louis Cartier began his Parisian luxury product journey of creating jewelry and other fine goods in 1847. These 18K white and yellow gold dress clips are from the Art Deco era, where design and gemstones were the focus of that time. The richly colored dark and light citrines are perfectly matched for color and shape. The straight baguettes accentuate the architectural influence on jewelry in this period. Princess cut diamonds are channel set to highlight the shapes, and old European cut rounds natural bezel set diamonds soften the edges. Dress clips were a signature of Cartier's innovation of function and design, leading it to be a Fortune 500 company still operating today. These beauties are signed 'Cartier Paris'.
