Description : The orignal crowns were worn of organic materials like laurel or olive leaves, thousands of year ago. To wear this wreath would indicate in Greece that you were the winner of an athletic event, a military leader or even a poet. Originally called a diadem, a crown was placed on the head of the leader of the country they are in charge of. Today the most famous person who always wears a crown of authority is the Pope. This brooch is very well crafted in 14KY gold, three, purplish blue oval faceted sapphires in what are actually called crown bezels. Adorned with cultured white round pearls this crown is also accented with seed pearls which sometime refer to tears in mourning jewelry. The symbol of the cross is apparent when you look at the back of this pin. A mysterious meaning is woven into this special piece, and is the perfect gift for the Queen in your life. Sapphire is the birthstone for September and pearl is for June.
