Victorian 14K Yellow gold enamel and diamond cloak pin with safety brooch

Description : Two concentric forms create a clover in 14KY gold, which is then enameled with the pale periwinkle blue and yellow centers of the Forget-me-not flower. Shaped like a star, the legend is that a young man was courting his girl, and gathered the flowers together for her. As he was accidently swept away by the Danube, he begged her to 'Forget-Me-Not'. These were his last words. In Victorian times this flower was also a symbol worn in mourning. A second brooch is attached by a chain to the clover, creating a double set of pins. The enamel on the 14KY gold is brilliantly articulate, and in perfect condition. Prong set in the center of each pin is a .16 round natural faceted diamond. Perfect for spring, or that April birthday.
