Description : Alton Bedonie is a Navajo/Dine silversmith known for his work with turquoise and silver. Each piece of his jewelry is created entirely by hand. This massive sterling silver turquoise necklace is a museum worthy masterpiece. There are 9, finely matched spiderweb turquoise cabochons, bezel set on backplates, and then linked together with flat rings so this piece hangs perfectly. Each bezel is hand sawn with a series of cuts creating what is traditionally known as a crown bezel. In this necklace they are all hand done. Alton also is known for his custom stamps that are unique to his designs. Often he uses Carico Lake Spiderweb turquoise which is symbolic of good fortune, optimism, and spiritual peace. To our professional and knowledgeable staff, this is one of the most spectacular and important pieces of Native American jewelry in our entire inventory. Turquoise is the birthstone for December.
