Description : The Santa Domingo Pueblo is located between Santa Fe and Albuquerque in the Southwest United States. It is the home to dozens of various tribes, particularly the Kewa, and has been a central Pueblo for Native Americans for over 400 years. A 'soul' shell is inlaid in a mosaic pattern with various gemstone materials like lapis, turquoise, mother of pearl, onyx and spiny oyster. The shell is then strung on multiple strands of turquoise, coral and lapis. These large shells were worn by the ancestral people that most likely descended from the Anasazi and the people of Chaco Canyon. This necklace is an example of hundreds of years of Native American tribes and is worn with great pride. 22 inches long
