Description : A 29 carat bluish purple faceted oval amethyst is the centerpiece clasp on this necklace. Surrounded by 1.4 total carat weight of natural white round faceted diamonds sets the pace for the hand knotted triple strands of Akoya pearls. There are two kinds of pearls, saltwater and freshwater. Akoya pearls are saltwater, and the cooler water temperatures form a higher luster which produces a thicker nacre on each of these 8mm beautifully matched Akoya pearls. Salt water pearls are much more rare, and their luster is a fine smooth surface with a slightly pink cast. A royal piece of jewelry, the overall length is 15 inches on the interior, and drops to 17 Inches at its longest.
