Description : The bow was a popular motif in many eras of jewelry design. It was particularly often used in Art Deco motifs. The bow was a predecessor to opening a package, and inspiring excitement over the contents. Bows were used to symbolize the knot or love between two people. This would make a beautiful bridal necklace for something blue and something old. This fused, 14KY and white gold diamond and sapphire pendant hangs vertically from its chain, in a style that is called a lavaliere. The name came from the mistress of King Louis IV who was Louise de la Valliere. This pendant has a sensuous form to it, with a round natural dark blue sapphire bezel set in the center. The elegant shape has diamonds that follow every curve. The dimensional line this creates is light and very feminine.
