Vintage 22KG Polki Diamond and Mother of Pearl Pendant with Modern Labradorite and SS Vermeil Gold chain and setting

Description : The Polki diamond is the oldest form of diamond cutting, or fashioning as it is called in the gems business. This style of diamond originated in India, and is still sometimes used today. The diamond is faceted on the top, but uncut on the bottom. The Mother-of-Pearl is a very subtle detail in this teardrop shaped pendant set in 22KY gold. Paired with the diamonds it looks like a mosaic. The 30" labradorite bead chain is handmade using SS with gold vermeil wire. Labradorite is a gemstone that comes from an igneous rock of the feldspar variety. The brilliant rainbow flashes of color are the result of a mineral in the host rock, called Spectrolite. Most Labradorite come from Paul's Island in the town of Nain, in Labrador, Canada.
