Late Georgian 18KY gold, Pink Sapphire and pearl ring

Description : Jewelry is a language. This is called a Forget Me Not Ring, and certainly we will not forget this beautiful piece of jewelry. Given as a symbol of love and devotion This is a stunning faceted pink sapphire oval, with 8 perfect 1.5mm seed pearls set in a halo all around. Engraved inside the band "...to his mother...1846" The forget me not design is distinctly Regency era leading us to wonder if the very worn hand engraving was scrawled later than the ring. A recessed area on the obverse side remains where once a tiny glass covered a tiny lock of a treasured son's hair. The botanical side details are lovely and flow out from the center gems. Size 8
