Early Victorian 1800 Tassie Glass and Brass Watch Fob

Description : Not only is this 'Tassie' seal an historic object, but it depicts an historic event recording the use of a steam engine. The Tassie seal was a process developed by Scottish born James and William Tassie for creating wax intaglio glass seals, often used as signatures. This brass watch fob shows an orange glass 'Tassie' of 2 men and a steam engine. We could imagine that this novelty was used on a train conductor's watch in the early 1800's.
