Description : Watson Honanie passed away less than a year ago. He was the Hopi artist that learned from his uncles how to hand fabricate silver jewelry, but was the innovator of a process that allowed him to apply a 14KY gold overlay onto the sterling silver. These corn maidens are a lovely pair, and yet individually unique earring gold fill post with backs design. Their hair is in the traditional style becoming a young maiden who is yet unmarried. They appear to be giggling, as they each emerge from a sacred stalk of corn, a symbol of harvest, prosperity, and the health of the tribe. Truly an heirloom treasure, as Watson is an artist that is no longer with us, his work is very limited in availability.
