Description : According to the International Gem Society, authentic Georgian jewelry is quickly becoming very rare to find. The Georgian period was from 1714-1837, and is primarily British, but can have other influences as well. Coral generally is traded from Italy. These tiny pieces of coral are each strung in loops hung from a intricately carved bead and set on a 14KY gold shepherd's hook. In Georgian times, the use of coral was a protector for women and children who were at risk with their health. The coral is bright orange red, and a creamy white. 40mm long and lightweight, these earrings are a nice fresh look for spring or summer.
