Native American 14KY gold, and coral feather Ray Tracey signed earrings
Description : A rare pair of 14KY gold 60mm feather earrings with a coral bead accent, are signed by Navajo/Dine artist, Ray Tracey. Tracey learned to make jewelry one summer when he was 9 years old when he complained to his mother he was bored. She brought him to a reservation school in Genado, Arizona, where he fell in love with the silversmithing benches. He attended Brigham Young University studying math and physics, and ended up in Hollywood for nearly 10 years, with an acting career. He was featured in many mainstream films, including Private Benjamin, Centennial, and How the West Was Won. Ironically he felt he was more successful making jewelry at the bench, and lives and works today about an hour north of Gallup, New Mexico. Traditionally working in silver, these solid 14KY gold feather drop earrings with shepherd's hooks are unusual, and stunning examples of his work, and are true treasures of the enduring qualities of the Native American spirit.
