Victorian 14KY multi-gold and diamond engraved disk earrings

Description : Made from the 2 halves of a 14KY gold watch case, these earrings are lovely in their asymmetry. On one side is the case cover that has a single bird alighting on the top of an area meant for initials to be engraved, and has a organically place series of 1.5mm bezel set round diamonds. On the other side is a repousse and engraved designed of 2 birds and a star with bezel set diamonds as the floral and star centers. The weight of these case covers is very light, and they were modernized with shepherd's hooks for comfort. You can see the mixed color of golds, yellow, green and rose were used to highlight the various details. Stars represented wisdom, and sometimes indicated which direction a person should take in life, as well as a Masonic symbol for women and men in the Order of the Eastern Star.Certainly unusual, and a great way to upcycle the beauty and extensive workmanship of a pocket watch from long ago.
