Description : This unique gilt ring (sterling silver with a gold wash) is an iconic Bohemian piece featuring two blood red garnets encircled with rose-cut faceted garnets. It has Czech hallmarks and dates to the 1870s. The color of Cabernet, this by-pass ring would be a truly amazing addition to any collection. The ring is approximately a size 9.5 and can be re-sized. The term “Bohemian garnets” is an established trade name for dark red pyrope crystals originating from the Czech Republic. These garnets have been used since the 5th century. It has been a gemstone for kings, nobility and liturgical objects in the Medieval period and beyond.
