Description : This fabulous gilt ring (sterling silver with a gold wash) is an iconic Bohemian piece featuring two luscious, blood red garnets encircled with rose-cut garnets. It has Czech hallmarks and dates to the 1870s. The color of Cabernet, this by-pass ring is truly one of a kind and an amazing addition to any collection. The ring is approximately a size 9.5 and is easily re-sized. The term “Bohemian garnets” is an established trade name for dark red pyrope crystals originating from the Czech Republic. These garnets have been used since the 5th century. It has been a gemstone for kings, nobility and liturgical objects in the Medieval period and beyond.
