Description : From the late 18th century into the 19th century, Egyptian revival jewelry became wildly popular. The trend became a frenzy when the tombs of the Pharoahs were discovered and the Suez Canal was being built. The Paris Exposition of 1867 introduced entire Egyptian revival collections from the biggest jewelry houses, including Boucheron. The Egyptian revival style was popular with royalty as well. These Pharoah cufflinks enameled upon sterling silver, with turquoise, lapis cabochons and coral inlay accents, are a perfect example of how pervasive this style was. In excellent condition.
