Victorian 14K rose gold, garnet and Persian turquoise pendant

Description : Hand fabricated c. 1900 this lovely little pendant was originally a veil pin. A veil was worn at a wedding to symbolize purity, and the bee represented fertility. The veil was pinned up so that it would not be longer than the dress. Adorned with Persian Turquoise, which also represented purity, two small garnet cabochon eyes make this petite, but dynamic, converted pendant a very special piece of jewelry. December's birthstone is turquoise and garnet belongs to January.
