Description : Not only was the crescent moon a sign of femininity and the cycles of life when symbolized in Victorian jewelry, but it also represented the honeymoon which was a period of time after the wedding when love was still exciting and fresh. This tradition began in the mid-1800's where a newly wed couple would take some time together after the marriage ceremony and spend it exclusively with their new spouse. The crescent moon also represented the phases of the moon, like the phases in our lives. This 14KY gold feminine, openwork crescent moon pin has three graduated round natural blue sapphires prong set on the top, with two round natural white prong set diamonds. Sapphire is the birthstone for September, and April is diamond, which would be a lovely wedding gift to represent the couple. The open design in the back allows the light to come through and illuminate the gems on the top of this pin. It is quite special and certainly has a very specific meaning.
