Modern Gilt Sterling Silver, banded agate, garnet lion fob pendant

This was possibly a watch fob that had been converted to a pendant. The details in the lion's face are striking, and fierce. Two round cabochon garnets glow for his eyes, and the sterling silver casting was most likely gilded with gold, but now has a patina of silver consistent with wear and age. Banded agate is a translucent multi-color gemstone that is often carved for seals. This piece has a flat back but shows the banded colors of golden brown with a crisp white line.
