Victorian Sterling silver, 18KY gold and hand carved emerald ring

Description : Acquired on our owner's recent trip to India, this ring is a stunning example of the hand made quality that can be found in a country where jewelry is one of its primary exports. Emerald is a form of beryl that is 5.5 on the Mohs scale and makes it very convenient to hand carve the gemstone. This floral design is a signature of East Indian carving. The ring was made in the early 1900's and its ornate construction was hand fabricated in Sterling silver. The distinctinve emerald cabochon is set in an 18K yellow gold bezel which highlights its richly colored body of yellowish green tones. Size 8
