Description : The suffragette colors were used as a signal between allies. Purple indicates loyal and dignity, white represents purity, and green stands for hope. As it turns out gold also has meaning, and represents life and light. Enamel work is a very complex process. Ground pigments added to glass, are heated, melted and fused to the surface of the metal. A lot can go awry during this work. It takes enormous amount of patience, and technical expertise. These lovely earrings are symbolic of the suffragette colors and meanings of women who have gone before us, and paved the way for our voting rights. Two beautiful lotus flowers sit in a gradient pool of green within a teardrop shape. Above the flowers are in each earring two round opal cabochons in bezel settings. Beautifully crafted, and meaningful these earrings are a tribute that resonates with women all over the world. Hand signed by the artist.
