Art Deco Platinum, Rubellite and Diamond Coctail Ring
Art Deco Platinum, Rubellite and Diamond Coctail Ring
Description : Rubellite is another name for pink tourmaline, October's birthstone. This cabochon is a stunning and very large example of rubellite. Measuring approximately 18mm long x14mm long, it is surround by baguettes and round natural brilliant white diamonds weighing approximately 4.5 total carats. The decorative setting in the back is open and allows the gemstone's color to shine through. A cocktail ring is not for everyday, but rather to be worn for special occasions and is significantly larger than a traditional engagement ring. Platinum useage was a rarity during the 1940's as it was outlawed to be used for anything but engines and war manufacturing during WWII as it was considered a 'strategic mineral'. This ring most likely was manufactured during the 1930's. There are so many unique and rare details in this cocktail ring, as it is a true treasure. Size 8
