Modern 18K white gold, diamond pave, Mabe pearl and black onyx hinged cuff bracelet

Description : A Mabe pearl is intentionally grown to have a domed top and a flat back. The nucleus of the pearl attaches itself to the inside of the mollusk, rather than form freely in the tissue of the oyster. The 'blister' is cut out of the mollusk, and then sealed on the back with mother of pearl. This allows the designer to set the pearl in a traditional manner, in this case, a bezel setting. Next to the creamy white of the pearl sits a cabochon of semi-opaque black onyx also bezel set. Surrounding the pearl and the onyx is a field of pave natural white diamond. The weight of this bracelet is significant, and was a custom ordered piece. The graphic contrast of the white pearl and the black onyx is striking, and the quality can be perceived immediately upon feeling the weight of the 18K white gold that forms this perfectly functioning hinged cuff bracelet. Fits a medium wrist.
