Victorian 18KY gold, pearl, diamond and enamel flower ring

Description : Perfect for the 4th of July, this ring is a burst of red, white and blue. The enamel petals are in near-perfect condition, the 3mm round cultured pearls form a ring in the center, and surround a white gold setting for a 2mm old European cut faceted diamond. Sized at 9.5, you could wear this ring on a middle or pointer finger on a smaller hand. The process of enamel is an arduous one. Each petal is formed in gold, and then a mixture of glass is applied to the suface, and heated uniformly in a kiln. The translucence of the enamel shows the metal texture below the surface, as if you are looking through water. Pearls are the birthstone for June, diamond is for April.
