Victorian 14KY gold and diamond 'Signet' style ring
Victorian 14KY gold and diamond 'Signet' style ring
Description : Originally a signet ring was designed as the owner's signature, and for thousands of years was reserved for men in power. The relief on the surface was usually created to press into a wax seal and this became legally binding. In more recent time this type of ring was given as a gift for a merit like graduation. This signet has an 'H" clearly carved into the top. The rough texture behing the letter 'H' is typical of this style, and the bezel set 3mm round natural European cut faceted diamond is a nice touch. Signet rings were always designed with a larger, sometimes oval area for the top, and tapering back to a more comfortable width. This ring is a nice size 8.75 to fit a larger hand.
