Victorian Sterling Silver Cat Pin

Description : This cat looks to be a portrait of someone's very special kitty. His mane indicates he could be a Maine Coon due to all that fur. His eyes are so expressive, and albeit this is a small brooch, he is mighty handsome and highly detailed. He was most likely hand formed from flat sterling silver sheet metal in the repousse process, hammering the definition of his features from the back. Then the two pieces are soldered together. You can tell this by the two holes in the back. They are placed there because you cannot solder two pieces together safely without a vent. Measuring at 30mm long the oxidation has darkened his fur, and given him a definitive look as a black cat. Perfect for the cat lover in your family!
