Victorian 14K rose gold, amethyst, pearl and enamel pin/pendant
Victorian 14K rose gold, amethyst, pearl and enamel pin/pendant
Description : The tassel can be traced back to ancient jewelry, and referenced in the Bible. The movement and drape is a lovely addition to any piece. Amethyst was used often in Victorian jewelry. The word amethystos literally translated means, 'not drunk' and was worn to keep a clear mind. The 18mmx15mm faceted, double prong set amethyst oval has three pearls bezel set as accents, and is placed within in a 'taille d'epergne', uniquely shaped, enamel foundation. Two tassels flow from this hand fabricated structure made of gold caps and 1.5mm rose gold herring bone chain. Taille d'epergne is a style of enameling that intentionally conserves the amount of gold cut away for the enamel to be applied, and literally means 'shallow cut'. A convertible pendant/ pin combination measuring 80mm long, this piece is prominent in size, the perfect gift for a February birthday, and a great way to promote and support sobriety.
