Art Noveau 14KY gold, diamond, pearl and enamel convertible pin/pendant
Art Noveau 14KY gold, diamond, pearl and enamel convertible pin/pendant
Description : Enamel is a process where glass is mixed with pigment, and heated onto the surface of metal. This feminine, dusty mauve iris flower is petite, but a lovely representation of Art Noveau jewelry. The enamel does show some wear, which is consistant with its age. A convertible piece always gives the wearer some flexibility, and here it can be worn as a pin, or a pendant. The center diamond is approximately 3mm round and securely set in a 6 prong setting, and a natural baroque pearl hangs from the bottom, giving this piece some kinetic movement which is always appealing. The iris flower indicated royalty in France and Italy, and offered the wearer some hope. Its name is derived from Greek meaning rainbow. Diamond is the gem for April's birthstone, and Pearl is for June. Hand inscribed XIV, 32356
