Victorian 14KY gold, diamond, natural seed pearl and enamel pin

Description : The pearls on this brooch are amazing. Every one is perfectly matched for color and size, and then graduated smaller to larger in a concentric oval around the brooch. The diamonds are suprisingly lively, unmistakeable and very bright. The classic Victorian design shows a floral motif in a representational manner, and there is a great weight to this solid gold pin. It measures 45mm tall and 38mm wide. Enamel was used widely in Victorian times to allow for inlay gemstones, and other materials like glass. The feminine nature of this pin is really special, and could potentially be a piece of mourning jewelry. The useage of black and the pearls can sometimes be indicative of this.
