Description : The Squash Blossom Necklace even though known for being a traditional ceremonial Native American necklace, has a North African, Spanish influence with the Naja, or crescent moon shape centerpiece. Created in the traditional style of Zuni petit-point, a child's squash blossom is an exceedingly rare, cultural piece of jewelry. This particular one is a stunning example of the finest craftsmanship and historic relevance. Each piece of turquoise is hand cut, and bezel set. Each bead is handmade in two parts, formed in halves and joined. The details above each blossom shows the care and importance of the child it was made for. A squash blossom was a statement of wealth and level of stature signifying their belonging to the tribe. The length is generous enough that it could be possibly worn by someone of small stature. A piece like this based on quality of materials and intricate design, is truly museum quality.
