QUANDELACY
Native American Amber, turquoise, lapis and coral Quandelacy family carved fetish necklace
Native American Amber, turquoise, lapis and coral Quandelacy family carved fetish necklace
Description : The Quandalacy family members are gem carvers from the Zuni Pueblo in New Mexico. Known for their sleek depictions of animal spirits, this necklace is a unique strand of turquoise with significantly sized, inlaid amber carvings of bears, coyotes and bison. Known for their generational skills passed down from parents to children and then siblings, the family is still producing gemstone carvings for fetish necklaces today. The inlaid turquoise on the large bear centerpiece represents the power of the breath of life. In this life the breath is the first thing you take, and the last thing you do. These incredibly rare amber carvings are exquisite examples of the Quandalacy legacy. The necklace measures approximately 26 inches in length and can be put on without undoing the clasp. Every year the availability of pieces like this diminishes at a dramatic rate. This necklace is a family heirloom.
