Native American Sterling Silver coral and turquoise inlay Squash Blossom Necklace
Native American Sterling Silver coral and turquoise inlay Squash Blossom Necklace
Description : The Thunderbird represented the prayer for rain. In Native American mythology it is a symbol of power and strength. The story is told that water would flow from its beak, and thunder rolled from the flapping of its wings. From this dramatic event the earth was nourished and the crops would grow. This squash blossom necklace has the Thunderbird as the central pendant, or what is traditionally called a Naja, and the turquoise and coral chip inlay Thunderbirds rise up on either side placed in between the 8mm round handmade sterling silver hollow beads. To wear this 24" long necklace is to call upon the power and prayers of the spirit world. It could not be more of a statement piece.
