LES BERNARD
Modern Rough Coral Les Bernard necklace
Modern Rough Coral Les Bernard necklace
Description : Les Bernard Jewelry company was in NYC on 5th Avenue from the 60's to the mid 90's. The name was derived from the two owners, Bernard Shapiro and Lester Joy. Bernard Shapiro's father was Harold Shapiro who was a Vogue jewelry designer. This graduated strand of coral is a material in jewelry that is now highly regulated and extremely scarce. As a colonial marine invertabrate, it is an animal that colonizes in the ocean and helps to build reefs. The largest piece of this coral in the center is nearly 25mm in length. As this is a vintage piece, it is a unique opportunity to wear this 24" necklace.
