Art Deco 18KY gold and enamel Cartier cigarette case
Art Deco 18KY gold and enamel Cartier cigarette case
Description : What a story this cigarette case could tell. Made by Cartier, signed and numbered 1555, it was rarely used by its owner, Beulah R. Fiske. Still filled with her monogrammed cigarettes, the case is in pristine condition. The ribbed texture in the solid 18KY gold is accented by enamel design work done precisely in the fashion of the Art Deco era of architecture. Beulah Fiske, born in 1886 in Chicago, and died in San Francisco in 1949, was the wife of a Chicago banker. Their son Billie was puportedly the first American young boy to be killed in World War II in the Royal Air Force. This case is an exquisite example of fine quality craftsmanship, and also carries the spirit of the original owner. A true masterpiece. Approximately 4.5 inches long, 3 inches wide and 3/8" deep.
