Art Noveau Sterling silver and rose cut diamond pendat

Description : An Art Noveau 40mm wide x 25mm long sterling silver plaque from 1890 depicting the Garden of Eden, is set in a modern frame with a rose cut diamond halo. Eve reclines partially nude in a field of lilies. She looks backwards over the horizon, as it was considered too bold at the time for for an image of a woman to make eye contact with the viewer. This piece is filled with mystery. She reclines alone, and covers herself in modesty with a drape in a paradise that was once described as the border between heaven and earth. Chain is not included.
