The term Art Deco is an abbreviation for the Arts Decoratifs. It was first seen in France in the early 1910's. Art Deco definitely is an influence on architecture in many cities in the world. It began in Paris and derived from the Exposition Internationale held in Paris. It is considered a glorious style and was a proud example of luxury and glamor. The style was linear with non decorated surfaces that were high polish. Art Deco ended at the onset of World War II.
